L’Institut Georges Chappaz de la vigne et du vin en Champagne, part of the Université Reims Champagne-Ardenne offers to Champagne professionals (Houses, Coopératives, Vignerons), hospitality & wine distribution professionals, and students a specific ranger of courses crafted to answer the needs of the industry.
L’Institut Georges Chappaz joined a few years ago by the Villa Bissinger team has become one of the well-known training centres in Champagne. For more than 25 years of experience and skills dedicated to education, research, development and communication, it has contributed to the development and communication of the culture and heritage of Champagne.
We offer a wide range of courses combining theory, practical workshops, and tastings taught by some passionate and recognised teachers and industry professionals. We limit the number of participants to 12 students per session to make sure that everyone can have a suited and personalised learning experience.
Course objectives :
- Describing and assessing Champagne wines.
- Knowing how to store and serve Champagne wines in optimal conditions.
- Being able to recommend a Champagne wine by ascertaining a customer’s expectations and requirements and then making a range of proposals suited to their request.
- Pairing food and Champagne wines
- Understanding and interpreting Champagne wine labels.
