The Italian Sommelier Association was founded on 7 July 1965. It organizes courses on wine, beer, oil and spirits.
Presentation
AIS is the largest sommelier association in the world, thanks to the trust of tens of thousands of members. On 6 April 1973, with Decree no. 539 of the President of the Republic, has obtained legal recognition from the State.
Every year it organizes over 2,000 professional qualification courses for sommeliers throughout Italy. The Association is present in all Italian regions, from Valle d'Aosta to Sicily.
Through its Clubs, AIS is also present in the rest of Europe, as well as in the Americas and Asia. Imminent openings in Switzerland and Monaco. It also promotes regional, national and international competitions, with different degrees of difficulty.
- Course objectives :
- Describing and assessing Champagne wines.
- Knowing how to store and serve Champagne wines in optimal conditions.
- Being able to recommend a Champagne wine by ascertaining a customer’s expectations and requirements and then making a range of proposals suited to their request.
- Pairing food and Champagne wines
- Understanding and interpreting Champagne wine labels.
